Arnolfo John Caraffi, BSc, was Secretary of Birkbeck, 1952–1979. He obtained his BSc in Chemistry at Birkbeck, and he was himself an amateur artist who exhibited twice in Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, in 1982 and 1984.
