Painter and draughtsman, born in Hythe, Kent, who was married to the artist Roy Oxlade. She studied at Folkestone School of Art, 1952–6, then at Royal College of Art, 1979–81. Her group show appearances included Hayward Annual, 1982; Cleveland International Drawing Biennale, 1985; Odette Gilbert Gallery, 1988; David Bomberg and Others, at Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne, 1991; and John Moores Exhibition, Liverpool, 1991–2. She had a solo show at Trinity Arts Centre, Tunbridge Wells, 1985. Although she favoured some type of likeness, Wylie believed that painting should not be merely photographic, being “a transforming process where materials and subject take on new life together”. Lived in Newnham, Sittingbourne, Kent.
