
Painter, illustrator and teacher, born in London. He studied at Hastings School of Art under Philip Cole, then at Royal Academy Schools with Walter Westley Russell, Robert Austin and Malcom Osborne. Taught at Bromley School of Art and elsewhere. Animals were an important feature of Wilson’s output, which included illustrations for Radio Times and a number of books with a series by him, among them Just Monkeys, 1937, and Birds, 1965. Wilson was a member of SWLA and RI, also exhibiting with RSMA and Dorset Naturalists’ Trust at Dorset County Museum, 1982–3. Lived in Bidborough, Kent.
