Painter and draughtsman, notable for wide-ranging Scottish landscapes and fishing pictures, born in Macduff, Banffshire, who studied at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, under James Hector, and the Aberdeen School of Design. In 1924 Rennie opened a studio at Braemar, from which he sold much of his output, also showing at Aberdeen Artists’ Society and at Paisley Art Institute. Posthumous exhibition in 1990 at McEwan Gallery, Ballater. Evening Light, Noch-na-gar, near Ballater, offered by Bonhams & Brooks in 2001, was a typical colourful scene.
