Painter, full name Frances Mary Richmond Paton, born in Hareshawmuir, Ayrshire. Was educated in England and on the continent. She studied before and after World War II at Edinburgh College of Art, gaining her diploma in 1947 and undertaking post-diploma work, 1948. Teachers included William Gillies, William MacTaggart and Leonard Rosoman. She was a member of SSA and Aberdeen Art Society, also showing with RSA and Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. Lived at Rathen, Aberdeenshire.
