Painter, muralist and stained glass artist, born in Greenock, Renfrewshire, who studied at Royal Academy Schools, then at École des Beaux-Arts, Paris. In 1900 McLellan had success at the Paris International Exhibition with his stained glass Field of the Cloth of Gold, and Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow, where he settled, acquired his work. He was elected RBA and RSW, also showing extensively with RSW and ROI and RA.
