Painter, draughtsman and teacher, born in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, where she later lived for many years. She studied at King Edward VII School of Art at Durham University, graduating in Fine Art; her teachers, during 1945–50, included Lawrence Gowing and Robin Darwin. Was for many years art mistress at Consett Grammar School. Exhibited widely in group shows, including RA, Festival of Britain touring exhibition, RBA and RSA; had one-man show at Foyles Gallery. Ministry of Works and Shipley Art Gallery, Gateshead, bought her work.
