Born in Merthyr Tydfill, Wales, the brother of William Lorando Jones. Jones moved to London by the early 1850s and had his studio at 88 Great College Street, Camden Town. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1852 and at the International Exhibition, London, in 1862. He is listed as a sculptor in census records until 1891.
