Painter, born in Bristol, who studied at Bristol Faculty of Art and Design, 1983–8. He went on to exhibit widely in the southwest of England, winning the South West Arts Fine Arts Award in 1990. Mixed exhibitions included RWA, 1988; Crane Kalman Gallery, from 1992; Manchester Contemporary Art Fair, 1994; and Gordon Hepworth Fine Art at 23 Smith Street, 1997. Solo shows included Crane Kalman, from 2000, and Six Chapel Row, Bath, 2003. There Jones, who described his work as “like going on a journey when you don’t know what you will discover,” showed abstracted landscapes which used rich textures of dripped and splashed paint. Arthur Andersen and Lloyds TSB hold Jones’ work.
