Painter, sculptor and teacher who graduated with honours in fine art, Coventry Polytechnic, 1980, gaining his master’s at University of Central England, 1995. Jones taught art at Dudley College, 1995, being artist-in-residence at the Grammar School in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, where he lived, 1997–9. Group shows included Birmingham University, 1990; West Midlands Arts, Birmingham, 1995; and Eagle Works, Wolverhampton, from 1996. Among his solo exhibitions were Wolverhampton Art Gallery, 2000. At that time Jones was “working on a series of paintings using images from films and documentary photography as a starting-point. I focus on political and social issues and have been using a computer to explore new ways of visualizing images.”
