Versatile painter, sculptor, potter and teacher, born at West Bridgford, Nottingham, who studied at Loughborough and Edinburgh College of Art. Teaching included Edinburgh Academy. Hall’s work could have a mystical element, as in his wood carving The Shaman, exhibited in 2000 at Mainhill Gallery, Ancrum. Group shows included Macaulay Gallery, Stenton, from 1982; ICA, 1984; Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh, 1990; Kirkbride Gallery, Traquair, 1998; and Scotland International Trade Fair, Glasgow, 2000. Among Hall’s solo shows were Väsby Konsthall, Sweden, opened by King Gustav and Queen Sylvia, 1997. Lived in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire.
