Painter in oil, pastel, watercolour and tempera of figure groups, portraits and landscapes. Born at Ealing, Middlesex, Gledstanes studied in Paris, and for periods at the Slade School of Fine Art, Byam Shaw School of Art and Vicat Cole School. She went on to become a prolific exhibitor, with work characteristic of artists who were at the Slade in the early part of the century; an especially accomplished watercolourist. Exhibiting venues included RA, RBA, SWA, Walker’s Gallery, Ridley Art Club, plus other provincial and Scottish galleries. Had studios at Prenteg, Portmadoc, in North Wales, and in London.
