Painter, lecturer and muralist, born in Lincoln, who gained a general art and design diploma at Lincolnshire College of Art and Design (where she later taught), 1985–7; a fine art honours degree at Nottingham Polytechnic, 1987–90; and her teacher’s certificate at University of Central England, Birmingham, 1992–3. Other teaching venues included Bournville College of Art, Birmingham; North East Worcestershire College; and Colchester Institute. Was artist-in-residence, Barr-Beacon School, Birmingham, 1993. She was shortlisted for the NatWest Art Prize, 1995 and 1998. In 1997 she gained a Lottery-funded commission for Brookside Primary School, Telford, and a murals commission for J Sainsbury, Stamford House. Mixed shows included Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, Mall Galleries, 1989; Ipswich Open, Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich, 1995; and the BP Portrait Award, National Portrait Gallery, from 1998.
