Artist using sound installations and photographs, born and lived in Glasgow, who studied at the School of Art there, 1986–91. In 1995–6 she gained a Fulbright Fellowship to New York. Group exhibitions included Information, Paisley Museum and Art Galleries, 1989; New Art in Scotland, Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow, 1994; Make Believe, Royal College of Art, 1995; and Correspondences, Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, 1997–8. Had a solo show, Part Edit, at Tramway, Glasgow, 1994, later ones including Home Taping, Marian Goodman Gallery, New York, 1996. In 2004, Leeds City Art Gallery displayed Donachie’s sound installation In the Arms of Strangers, commissioned by Leeds Museums & Galleries in 2001.
