Painter and teacher, born at South Crosland, Yorkshire, who worked in oil, the Bible being a key theme of her work. She attended Chelsea School of Art, 1937–9; Huddersfield School of Art, 1939–41; and London University Institute of Education, 1941–2. Was a member of Leeds Fine Art Club. Showed with RA, RSA, RCamA, WIAC, NEAC, RBA, ROI and Paris Salon. Had a solo show at Swarthmore Centre, Leeds, 1962, and Renoir Gallery, Harrogate, 1977. Her work was held by public galleries in Harrogate, Keighley, Wakefield and Southend, and by local education committees in Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Northumberland and Bristol. Lived in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
