Portrait painter like her husband Leonard Boden, she was born in Ecclesmachen, West Lothian. She studied at Glasgow School of Art and Heatherley’s School of Fine Art. Exhibited with UA, SWA and PS all of which she was a member, and RP, ROI and the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. As an artist, Margaret lived a double life. She made a major contribution to her husband’s work, to both their regrets not widely recognised, as well as having her own distinguished list of sitters. With Leonard she ran a private school for many years at their studio in Kensington. Their daughter was the notable harpist and teacher Daphne Boden. Lived in London.
