Painter, stained glass artist and etcher. Born in Aberdeen, he studied at Gray’s School of Art there, at the Royal College of Art under Gerald Moira and in Italy. He was head of Gray’s School for three years immediately prior to World War I. Exhibited prolifically at RA, RSA, RE, RI, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and Paris Salon, where he won a silver medal, in 1928. Elected RSA in 1935. Several Scottish collections, including Aberdeen, Glasgow and Dundee, hold his work. Lived in Aberdeen.
