Government Art CollectionPhotorealism, or Superrealism, is the attempt to paint photographically precise recreations of real life, whether through the use of photos, or by meticulous observation and techniques. Like Pop Art, this was a reaction against abstraction and minimalism and it celebrated mundane objects and scenes. The works of Clive Head, Michael Leonard and John Salt are good examples.
